This project is located at the old Fisk Plant in Pilsen. The objective of the project was to bring jobs to the community as well as to create a gathering place. The Pilsen neighborhood was below city average for the amount of green space they have in their area. This project created spaces for the community to play soccer, basketball, and tennis. The river is undergoing a remediation process which will enabled kayaking and light water activities. The main function of the building is to host light manufacturing. The proposed uses are for small artisanal manufacturing and small tech startups. The group was focused on the overall development of the site two buildings were developed by the team to suit the needs of the site. During this phase I focused on the design of the Livework building and development of the masterplan. The reinterpretation of the masterplan with a new design for the reuse of the old power plant building. The focus of this masterplan was to carve away to find the value and resources within the site, mimicking the language of site remediation. The design is focused on using carving to show the industrial past while also showing new life in this manufacturing corridor.
